The Flint-Gresham Fire Department is staffed with 3 paid state certified firefighters, but mainly by volunteers which includes the Fire Chief. This volunteerism saves the community an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in operational expenditures, which keeps the local tax rates lower. The Flint-Gresham Fire Department is always recruiting individuals who have a commitment to the community and can contribute the necessary time to become a professional-class firefighter with our department.
No prior experience is necessary. We will provide
all training, personal protective equipment (PPE) and pagers at no
cost to you. Persons accepted into the department will be on probation
for six months and will be required to participate in weekly training
and meetings.
